Bucks County relocation (Philadelphia, Yardley, Newtown: apartment complexes, rent, condo)

Hi -
We're moving from Philadelphia out to Bucks County in late August. We have not, however, settled on what community. I've taken a job in Pennington, NJ (near Princeton/Ewing) ... my significant other - well, he'll be commuting to Villanova and Temple a couple of times a week.

Our ideal situation would be to live in a community where we can rent a 2-bedroom apartment/condo/house in the $1000-$14000 a month range, and live within walking distance (we're young and healthy - anything less than 2-3 miles is "walking distance" for us) of restaurants, bars, and some semblance of "lively life".

We'd like the commute to favor me significantly (I'm working full time and have a demanding job); I don't want to be more than 20-25 miles from work. And, ideally, we'd like to be somewhere with easy freeway access or that's on a SEPTA line for my partner. We both love New Hope, but I think that commute would be awful for my significant other - even if it is only a couple of times a week.

Does anyone have recommendations for towns up in the Bucks County area that might meet our needs? Suggestions for apartment complexes? Or property management/rental companies we might consider working with? Anyone have experience living in any of these communities?
