Me and my mom are going to a philly cocnert at the wachovia center and we live in bethlehem so it takes about 1 hour 30 min. She's ok with driving there, but the concert ends at 10:30 or so and she's worried about driving BACK. Is it really THAT dangerous?

And your Mom is going to believe a bunch of strangers on a bulletin board?

Well, okay, I'm a Mom and if the concert is something she would enjoy, then I would say go for it! Just make sure you DO NOT go on the Schuykill - route 76. Follow 476 all the way South until it hits I-95 and then go North on I-95 until you get to the Wachovia Center. The traffic on 476 south of Plymouth meeting (called the Blue route) and I-95 can be killer from 4 pm to 7 pm during the week so allow extra time if that's when you are traveling. I took my son and his girlfriend to a Coldplay concert for his 16th birthday and it was great fun.

Why is she worried about someone breaking into your car? The chances of this happening while you are driving (i.e. a carjacking) are very low. The chances are also very low of your car being broken into while it is parked. Just make sure you don't leave anything potential thieves may want in plain sight. This seems very silly to me

Remind her that the Wachovia center isn't in a bad part of town or anything. You don't even really have to drive in the city to get to and from the Wachovia center. The highway is right there.

Unless you pull up to go "sight-seeing" in North Philly you should be fine

From the Wachovia Ctr to Bethlehem would be practically all interstate, 95,676,76. Like the previous poster said, the stadiums aren't even in the city, they are in kinda an industrial area, and there's a decent police presence after those things. You'll be fine.
