im a young college student and while doing my research these 2 neighborhoods seemed the most interesting to me. Which one you think would be better for a college student and which one is closer to center city ?

Wynnefield Heights is closer to CC. It's a nice looking area with some terrific houses. Phila. mayor Michael Nutter lives there. St Joseph University is the major institution in Wynnefield/Wynnefield Heights.

I assume you're looking for safe and easily accessible, but less expensive, alternatives to preferred neighborhoods for students in NW/W Philly, like Manayunk and University City. Both are reasonably accessible to CC by car and rail, so I'd pick according to what section of the city your school is in (e.g., if you're going to Phila U, pick W. Mt. Airy; if St. Joe's, Wynnefield).
