I don't have much in my budget and would like to move to philly so I could save money on school. I am disabled and live with my gf and we have a cat. My gf has a broken leg and cant work till she has some surgery(then she has a semester to finish still in school). my credit is soso because of some errors that wont be fixed for about 6 months(thats how long it takes to correct).

I dont want to move to west philly and I wouldnt feel great about kensington either. sw philly wouldnt be too bad so long as I was away from woodland ave.

I'd like to get an effiancy or 1 bedroom between $350-$550 (i could actually go up to $600 but my income is low and the less I spend on rent the more I have for food, transportation and hey who knows mabey even the occasional date with my gf...lol

I dont want to be in any really bad areas and just as a preemtive strike on naysayers ... there are such affordable places in philly the issue is finding them.

Try around 38th and Baltimore or so, and get a few roommates. That is part of West Philly, but it's not as bad as the places further west, the real part of West Philly that pretty much everyone would not want to be in.
