Does anyone know what the source is/was of the very large plume of thick black smoke was over the Kensington area of the city late yesterday? It seemed to originate from a major fire someplace in Kensington and was very visible from Center City and I-95 heading north, as that is where I noticed it most while exiting at Girard Avenue.

Not so remarkably, none of the local news sources seem to have noticed it.

So apparently no one else saw it? I figured since the Eagles weren't playing there might be some semblance of awareness going on...

Kensington would be better off if it burnt to the ground. That place is a DUMP to put it in modest terms.

Whether the people of Kensington live there by circumstance or choice, they should be respected just as every other city resident.

I tried looking on philly dot com as well as the WPVI website and neither mentioned the Kensington situation.
