That's right, my Temple Owls, who beat Navy yesterday are 6-2 on the season (and on a 6 game win streak) and are now eligible for 'postseason' play for the first time since 1990. This will be our first winning season since then. This will be our first Bowl Game since 1979.

So with that in mind, it's time for people from this great city to show their support for these kids, many of whom are from the immediate area. I encourage anyone on here to bring family and friends (especially kids) to some Temple football games. They're not very expensive (walk up tickets in very good seats are like $10-15 apiece), and it's a very family friendly atmosphere and a great, great time.

Our last two home games are: this Thursday (Nov. 5th) against Miami Ohio (alma mater of Ben Roethlisberger) scheduled for 7:30, but that might change. and Saturday Nov. 21st against Kent State at 1 PM.

Games are at Lincoln Financial Field (home of the Eagles)

Go Owls!!!!!!!

Nice job Temple, maybe if they continue their climb they could come back to the Big East?

That's certainly our goal, but it'll take a few more years for that to happen.

I was at the Temple/Navy game on Saturday, and it was a great win for the Owls, especially after that debacle chokejob last year (which I also attended). RB Bernard Pierce, who is a true freshman, is a heck of a player.

I was actually trying to figure out last night which bowl Temple might go to if they are selected to play in a bowl. The MAC's three bowl tie-ins are the Motor City Bowl (which is actually called something else now) in Detroit, the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, and the International Bowl in Toronto. I'm actually hoping the ACC doesn't have 9 bowl-eligible teams so the Owls might play in the EagleBank Bowl down here in Washington.

BTW, lots of Phillies red at the Temple/Navy game yesterday (from fans of both teams). It's too bad the Phillies' pitching couldn't do the job.

As a Temple grad, I'm stunned and excited. Al Golden should be commended for the job he has done so far.

And I even love their relatively new uniforms.

That's great to hear. I hope you'll come out and support your alma mater.

Bernard really is something else. I went to HS with him at Lower Merion. He's a great guy and a tremendous player.
As far as Bowls go, if we can get into the EagleBank Bowl, that would probably be our first choice. Either that or the International Bowl since we'd likely play a familiar Big East opponent.

Personally, I think they should stick with the MAC. Big East money and prestige is nice but maybe not if you're the perennial punching bags (again). Perhaps once Temple starts selling out the Linc and they get recruits on the level of East Carolina, University of South Florida, Cincinnati, etc. then it may be time to think about moving up... but then becoming the perennial contenders to the MAC wouldn't be a bad thing.

All of that said, I'm very, very happy for Temple Football to be having so much success! It would be an awesome story if they were invited to a bowl.

We're already recruiting at a bottom BCS level.

The Owls need to go back to the block "T" on the helmets though. I also think they should wear red pants when they wear their white jersey tops.
