I am going to work in King of Prussia, so I need to choose an area to live. I checked this website, and researched the data. My choice base on the data of 2007 are: West Conshohocken, Conshohocken, Bridgeport, and West Norriton. Please help me decide or add other options. Thank you very much!

I came from China two and half years ago, and in Texas A&M I finished my master's degree. I don't need to live in a Chinese community, but I certainly don't want to be the only Asian in a neighborhood. I hate traffic jam, noise when I sleep, and living in the woods.

I copied the following questions from a Dallas guy who also will move to PA soon.

When are you moving?
January 11

Where are you coming from?
College Station, TX

Why are you moving?
I found a job in King of Prussia

Where will you be working?
East part of King of Prussia

Have you been here yet?
Only for a visit 2 years ago, one day

Will you buy or rent?
rent

If renting, are you looking for an apartment, a townhouse or loft? How much can you spend?
No preference
No more than $1000 per month.

Do you prefer hi-rise or walk up?
Either is fine.

Are you married or single? Do you have children?
Single. No children

Do you prefer public or private schools?
I don't go to school

Do you have pets?
No

Do you want or need a yard?
No need. Can I grow tomatoes? cucumbers?

Are you keeping a car?
Yes

Do you prefer bustling activity or calm and quiet?
I want to sleep quiet, but I prefer bustling activity.

What do you want to be closest to?
social scene

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood?
Similar age would be nice. Others doesn't matter. Safe neighborhood is a must.

Coke or Pepsi?
errr.....Coke Cola

Do you have the anwsers from that post?

I am afraid King of Prussia has a whole lot of traffic but it isn't noisey and it has some nice apartments. Check out www.4wallsinphilly.com and www.apartmentguide.com using "Philadelphia" and then "nearby cities" then "King of Prussia"

In that post, Conshohocken was mentioned several times for good. Other areas are too far away from the place I work. The guy looking for help needs a place near to highways, but I don't. Driving on the highway is not fun for me.

I am looking the website you suggest now. It seems only recognize limited city/town names.

KoP has a pretty limited social scene. conshohocken is a good fit, you may also want to consider some main line towns like ardmore, bryn mawr, and wayne. not to far, they have some nightlife and excellent train access to center city. the city's chinatown is a block north of SEPTA's market east station, FWIW.

You already mentioned Conshohocken, Bridgeport, and Norriton.

I think you should also checkout Phoenixville, Manayunk, any of the towns along Lancaster Ave.

I work in KOP, and most of my co-workers in their mid-20's live in Conshohocken or Manayunk. Some of them also live in West Chester.

Great! I think I can start searching apartment in Conshohocken now. Thank you all

How about Plymouth Meeting, 12 minutes to the Northeast of Conshohocken?

Plymouth Meeting is fine with lots of housing/dining/shopping options, though it is more family-oriented.

if you can afford it, Conshohocken would probably be the better choice for a single person in their mid-20's.
