What are the tax laws regarding living in Philly and working in NJ?

I'm looking to move into a place in Bella Vista and work in Moorestown, NJ.

I know the wage tax is just under 4% for being a resident. But what about NJ? Will i still have to pay a wage tax?

I believe you need to fill out the NJ-165 form with your NJ employer. This will allow them to deduct PA tax instead of NJ tax on your paycheck. For city wage, I belive you need to pay that yourself. I think you have to set up an account for tax.

If you live in Philadelphia, you will pay the wage tax, whether you work in Philly or not. So yes, if you work in NJ and live in Philly, you will still pay the Philly wage tax.

If you live in Philly you pay the city wage tax. It gets deducted automatically.

I'm not sure if your employer has to deduct the NJ income tax as well but if they do you'll get it back at the end of the year. Talk to HR.
