I am thinking of buying a house in East Lansdowne, PA. I plan on staying there I would like to finish raising my three sons and retire in this home. Does anyone know about this area, is it a good place to raise children & live?

I do not know much about East Lansdowne, but i will say this about Lansdowne Lansdowne is a fantastic town and i would not live anywhere else. We moved there in Feb 2009 and have been delighted to find a town with a strong sense of community, from old to young, engineers to school teachers, people are very proud to live in Lansdowne. The town itself has so much to offer from the local Restaurants and Cafe, Indie cinema to the Farmers Market. The historical houses are just beautiful.

it depends on your perspective and previous experience. Lansdowne itself is fine; East Lansdowne is a bit rougher around the edges. You'd be in the heart of a working-to-middle-class area.

The Upper Darby School District is not the greatest. Haverford Township is slightly more expensive, but has much better schools.
