Wondering who is making this commute. Possible job in NYC, would like to stay in Philly.
If you make this commute, how long does it take, door to door, and what are the train fees like?

Thanks!

I don't but I know people who do. Where in Philly are you? One way is to take the R7 train to Trenton and change to NJT. If you work in lower Manhattan, get off at Newark and switch to the PATH, or if you are in midtown or above, get off at Penn Station. That takes a bit longer, but is a lot cheaper than the other method which is to take Amtrak from 30th Street.

Here is the R7 schedule:

SEPTA

NJT (to Penn Station):

New Jersey Transit

Amtrak:

Amtrak - Reservations - Fare Finder

i am in the northeast philly section, and I think there is an R7 stop right by my house, thanks for the info, it is helpful.

I am still interested in anyone's input on the emotional/stress toll of this commute if they are doing it.

Yes, the R7 goes through the Northeast so it would be simple to do. If you go on the websites, I provided, you can get information about the fares.
