A row home or detached house. Would prefer not to get into a condo situation where I have neighbors below or above me.

Looking for a 2-3 bedroom place. I want to be in a majority white area where parking wont be TOO much of a hassle. Preferably would have a few bars within walking distance (neighborhood bars or sports bars).

So what kind of price range am I looking at? Where to look? Willing to do work on the home myself.

Location is going to determine the price moreso than the style of home. You can find a row house for $25,000, or you can find one for half a million. How much do you want to spend?

I want to spend as little as possible where I can still live in a decent neighborhood. By that, I mean I dont want to have to worry about my home getting burglarized while im at work. Dont want to have bums living outside my house. Thats about it.

I am 24 years old and single. This would be my home until I get married and have kids somewhere down the line.

Old City, Society Hill, Rittenhouse Sq. You can even find a million dollar rowhouse in those neighborhoods.

I would say you are looking at 200k on up.

I would look in the greater NE areas (19154, 19116, 19115, 19135)... Very safe close knit neighborhoods. You will be looking at roughly 100-200k depending on exact location for a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath rowhome with a small backyard & garage.

Yeah, I didn't think of those places until after I hit "Post." I guess I think of Philly as North, West, and G-Town primarily. I haven't lived there since HS and that's pretty much what I know.
