Hi, does anybody know of any free (no insurance) walk in clinics in the Philadelphia area?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Family Practice and Counseling Network. It has a sliding scale but does not turn anyone down because of inability to pay.

Here in West Philly, the Philadelphia Dept. of Health "Free Clinic" is located at 555 South 43rd Street, across the street from Clark Park, a half a block south of Baltimore Ave.

It has a free pharmacy and a free dental clinic. Be prepared to wait a long time in the waiting room and bring some good magazines and books. However, once you see the doctor I can attest to you that the care you will be given is first rate top-notch and the doctors are very compassionate and professional. Here is a place - very rare in the United States - where people without any money or insurance can receive quality medical care.

The original post is a little over a year old, but here is the updated web page on the city website if anyone needs it:

all of the different health centers are listed on the right.
