Moving to Phili for new career from Westchester County, NY. Public Schools are my main concern. One child in elementary, One in Middle School. Also, cost of living in surrounding areas- not looking to purchase yet, but rental of home, condo , or townhouse. Your thoughts please.

Thank you.

Well honestly - the area is fairly large - if you will be working in the bubs a commute accross the region can be painful - also most of the sorrounding areas offer some good school choices in all of the sourronding areas - honestly the public schools here in the burbs are quite good and there are many on par with WC NY - so on that aspect you will have many choices

There's a questionaire that's posted at the top of the forum - fill it out and post it and people can give you a tailored response.

Otherwise at a minimum we need to know where exactly you'll be working and how much you want to spend on rent and the size of place you want and what's the top priority...

Thank you all for your comments thus far. The only thing I can disclose is the company I will be working for Sodexo. Site has not been disclosed. So, with this being said. Maybe I have to wait until further confirmation.

Thank you all kindly.

If I had kids, I wouldn't live in Philly. Let's just put it that way. I'd move to the suburban part of Philly. A lot of people who have kids will move out of the city because of the schools being so bad here.
