We are looking to relocate to AZ due to my husbands health. The humidity in AL is killing him, not to mention the thunderstorms throughout the year. He is disabled due to an injury and can not work. He can get around, but collecting SS and hopes to improve with the AZ weather. We have friends who live in Glendale & Surprise. We visited them back in June 2006 and my husband did great while we were out there. We also invested in some acreage in the Show Low/Concho area for the future, no house on it right now.

Right now would need something in the Phoenix metro area or outside it due to job a for me and schooling for our teenage son.

We are currently looking to purchase a short sale on the outskirts of Buckeye. It has 1 acre. Which may sound like a lot to most, but we currently have 30 acres in AL. And don't know how we would adjust to the smaller lots and developments in other areas we have looked at. Commuting won't be too bad for me as I currently drive about 30 miles one way to work now and the last 20 years. We live about 5 miles from the town of Piedmont, so not being right there is okay as far as shopping, etc.

We were looking in the Peoria area due to schools, but were being out bid on houses there. Plus the largest lot we found at the time was 12,500 sq.ft. a little small for us.

Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

You may also wish to consider the Wittman/Morristown area or even the outskirts of Surprise. You should be able to find many 1+ acre properties. You will be closer to your friends.
