Where are some good bars in Phoenix to go on a second or third date? I'm looking for places that aren't too loud or crowded so we can have a conversation. But since it's nice not to have to converse brilliantly for the whole evening, activites are a plus. Pool, dancing, live music etc.

Does it have to be in Phoenix? Tempe town lake is nice because it has nice places to eat and then you can take a stroll by the lake.
Any place that has a nice area to walk before or after dinner, maybe on the way to dancing. Now Scottsdale has both of those, a some good food, a stroll by the art galleries on your way to dancing and or shooting a little pool.
Ok, when are you picking me up? he he

What about the bars at Westgate? Yard House is a good start for dinner/drinks/conversation, then head next door to Margaritaville for live music. Theres also many other bars out there as well...those are just my favorites.

What part of town? That would really make a difference. Yard House is a good choice, great food, I love their french dip and swiss, and they have hundreds of beers on tap. They play classic rock.

My wife and I had our first date (and many others afterwards) at the Armadillo Grill on Camelback, just east of 16th Street on the north side. We've since moved far enough away that we don't go there much in the evenings (so I can't really speak to entertainment offerings), but it's a very clean, well-run place with good atmosphere, great service, and better-than-decent food.

What part of Phoenix are you in?

I used to live in North Phoenix and one of the nice ones there was Brennan's Pub & Grub. The name says it all. Food, drinks, bar, sports on the t.v. sets, and you can still have a nice conversation. Nice place for dating. The North Star Lounge is another good one too, for dating. It's right across the street from Brennan's, in the strip mall area plaza there.

With the recession going on these days, most bars in Phoenix are a little more quieter than they were when I used to live there (6 years ago). I went to a couple of them just a few months ago and couldn't believe how quiet they are nowadays. So, I guess you can go to any of them.
