I mean this guy seems to have done some questionable things - no more so than Cuomo up in NY, mind - but man, he's taking this illegal immigrant thing seriously isn't he?

Default Sheriff's deputies make migrant raids on Sizzlers

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's deputies on Saturday served search warrants on two Sizzler steak houses in Phoenix suspected of employing illegal immigrants.

According to a statement from Lt. Brian Lee, deputies arrested nine employees who they believe are using fraudulent identification to gain employment.

Good for Sheriff Joe.

Now - how much will the monetary fine be to the Sizzler restaurants?

so... there are still sizzlers around? Where? lol... How about hitting up Red Lobsters instead. I like the lady at the of the video

"they are working hard, regardless if they are using someones social security, they are still bringing money to the state of Arizona."

Is this a Central American thing? What's yours is mine? My sister in law has the same mindset and she is Central.

Last thought.... they are working hard to steal work from me, that is what's wrong miss tv lady. People don't understand how difficult it is for me to find a job at wally world, as a janitor, any restaurant. I'd subcontract myself out to farmers and make $3 an hour picking veggies in the field. People say the economy will go into the dumps if we lost all our illegals. That's wrong. Americans will work, you just have to force the lazy.

Im done with college debt and debt in general. I don't get any benefits for school because im not apart of a broken, poor, food stamp family. I didn't join the service. So my only option here is loans, loans, loans.

23 suspects

"including one who has been deported three times and has been hired back by Sizzler each time upon his return."

Arrest the manager who did the hiring and put him away for awhile. Make the executives at the highest level complicit. Start making examples of these places.

I won't begin to be satisfied the law is being followed until Walmart starts paying the piper.

Great question, Gandalara!

Here's a suggestion for punishment . . . how about having the ID of each and every individual responsible for this atrocity stolen for a few years and see how "innocent" the crime really is?

Thank God for Sheriff Joe!

Well, lookie here. Immigration laws being enforced without SB 1070. How does that happen?

Some employer enforcement and some border security. Sounds good except that Governor Brewer refuses to send troops to the border. We can't wait for the Federal Government, remember?

Governor Richardson managed to send the New Mexico Guard to the border to protect his citizens. What is Jan (GED) Brewer waiting for?

Sending troops to the border would help her campaign even more than SB 1070.

Something else occurred to me.

Individuals who turn in businesses should be monetarily REWARDED.

The manager in this article lost his job because of a dishonest business. People like him should benefit from arrests. Rewards will encourage more whistle-blowers.

If you don't hit the employers then you will never fix the problem because the rewards of a US pay check ... even at real low rates ..... is so much better than they can get in their own country. So illegals will always take the risk so long as there is a job for them.

Excellent idea. If more things like this were done, there wouldn't be an immigration problem. It's an obvious solution: No jobs for illegals= no illegals. The problem with this is that businesses make political contributions, illegals don't. Who are the politicians going to make a big show of going after? If they demonize the illegals, the poor dumb voters will forget that it is the businesses creating the problem.
