Usually we'll get a cold front coming down from Canada but there hasn't been many this year. Today it's 88 but the dew points are still 70.We'll get some really nice weather in the fall but then there's winter right around the corner. We're lucky if we get 2-3 good months total. I know people there say the get sick of all the sun but trust me it's better than the cold dark gloomy winters we have here. They usually start mid Nov. right through March. We've had some of our biggest snowstorms in March, one year we got over a foot of snow on April 1st....Some April fools joke huh...lol

Though I'm a newbie, I notice the humidity increases. I got here in April, so yeah. I'll say that yesterday was my first "miserable" weather day. To make it worse, I was outside for a few hours during a concert. After that little bit of rain that happened at the Cricket Pavilion, humidity soared even more than it already was. It was very very very uncomfortable weather, but thats the price we had to pay for just that little bit of rain.

I never thought I'd be a person excited to see rain, but on a hot summer day here, I figure if it's gonna be humid, it might as well rain. I prefer the truly dry heat, myself. Ya know, single digit humidity. Come back to meeeeeeeeeee!

People who live in the SW desert notice the increase in humidity in July. To the newbies who are accustomed to much higher humidity, it might still seem dry. But to us, it is muggy and uncomfortable. To me, there is nothing worse here than the nonsoon-like weather we are now having where there is humidity but no rain and the temps soar. Bring on the rain or bring on September.
that is interesting about yuma i never thought about the gulf effecting it like that but that makes total sense now.

You: I've been here two weeks, and I love the heat.

Me: Umm, sure. It only gets better with time

You do know that those same people could take a picture of their car in Jan. showing -27. Lets see ya just take some clothe off and jump in the pool to make that ok!!! Cold winter is much worse than a hot summer. You cant go out early and get things done. You cant golf early. You cant drive a few hours out of town to have a nice weekend. You cant do anything. You never see the sun. Everything turns brown. Its depressing. I think we should all just move to San Diego!

Are you there now? There was/is a pretty good gulf surge going on today.

Question Moved from PHX to STL

I moved from PHX to STL - the hot and humid summers make me think about the trade off...

Yes, PHX has higher temps but the fact that you need air conditioning in the Midwest almost all the time...

Then why not stay in PHX and enjoy the mild winters and enjoyable fall and springtime?

But my job moved...
