Well, fun...the first thing I will have to do when I get to Phoenix/Sun City is to find a great Dentist who does excellent implants. Can anyone suggest someone from personal experience or have you heard of anyone that does dental implants there that is top notch?

Not important where he is so long as it's in the Phoenix region. I'm looking for a quality guy who, hopefully, does not charge and arm and a leg for a great dental implant.

Help!!!

Take a look at Dr. Joe Fox in Sun City. He is a little pricey but very good.

Not so sure about why so expensive but Dr Fox did show me what a cheap butcher dentist has done to me. I've tried the inexpensive route, never again!

Know anyone who has used the dental school at U. of Arizona? It's cheap and I know the Dentists are supervised.

I would do it in a heartbeat....IF the borders weren't so darn scary now. So many of those Drs. have studied over here and you get alot for the money. Unfortunately, America's craving for drugs has ruined the border towns the past few years.

There's not a dental school at U of A. There is a private school in Mesa, Arizona College of Health Sciences, that has a dental school and clinic. I don't know the prices, but my father-in-law is going their for a consultation in a few weeks to have some implants done. The cheapest he found around town was $8k which he can't afford on his retirement. We of course don't expect it to be free but he really hopes it better than what he's been quoted elsewhere.

Doctor of Dental Medicine D.M.D Degree Program | Arizona School of Dentistry

You are talking about ONE tooth for $8,000? What's it made of? Diamonds?

I've done it - in Tijuana in 2000 and 2001. The dentist I saw there was trained and worked in San Diego. He left the group practice to open an office in Tijuana. The entire thing cost $1K, would have been at least 4 times that much.

I'm wondering what the borders and the city would be like now. Things are much more desperate than when I went (pre-dotcom bust).
