I'm on the prowl for a good dive. Cheap drinks and a kickass jukebox (punk, rockabilly, rock n roll). Not a place that turns into a danceclub or frequented by overzealous jock types looking to fight anyone that bumps into him. Major plus if I can get a dirt cheap PBR or Schlitz. I'm in Tempe...the closer the better. I have been reading about a place in Phoenix on E Indian School near 24th St called Kat's. Sound like it might be an interesting place. Anyone been?

Hollywood Alley, Shady's, The Rouge, and Time Out Lounge are my dive bar picks in that area. Never went to Kat's though, so I couldn't say.

The Rouge and Time Out used to have awesome drink specials, but it's been a while since I've been.

Hollywood Alley has live acts, and a 6am bloody mary breakfast on the weekends for those still out and about.

Enjoy

Not that I've been there, but I've seen the sign... isn't it "Monkey Pants"? (I think "Money Pants" might be a better name, actually! )
