For those of us who grew up in Phoenix in the 50s, 60s, 70s and into the 80s, we've lost a part of our childhood Bill Thompson, better known as Wallace of "Wallace and Ladmo", passed away today at 82.

Caught the tail end of Wallace and Ladmo in the 80's, loved it. One of the longest running local kids shows in America, and funny too. Gerald was awesome, the kids would get so upset with him.

I've read a lot about Wallace and Ladmo - I wish I had seen it. The sentiments I've read online make me feel like we do about our local Chicago kids' shows from my youth, and I can understand completely how dear to your hearts these folks are. I'll have to check YouTube to see if any of their old stuff is out there.

I was on the show in 1963. I was a fan all the way into college. Bill was pretty old. RIP

My most sincere and deepest condolences to Bill Thompson's family.

The fond memories of really good fun will stay with me for ever.
