My kids go to Alhambra Traditional School, near 35th Ave/Osborn, about 5 miles from downtown Phoenix.
It is one of the top rated schools in the Phoenix area.
There's a waiting list, but maybe you can sign up now for next year.

I've heard good things about the Phoenix Preparatory Academy school that is at 7th St just north of Van Buren. Google it for more info.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts so far.
I looked up a website www.greatschools to check up parents reviews for the above mentioned schools. Than I looked more and my anxiety hit the roof. I know, I know there is no perfect school. The problem is that right now my son goes to one which is perfect. His current school is small, but not too small, about 250 kids, teachers and students know each other by names, it is a bit like extended family. My son is in the 3rd grade, with minimal homework, with good academic results. He loves school, studying, exploring. He is interested in math, science.
It is important to me that he continues enjoying his education. I learned from my experience that those who like to study will succeed not those who have knowledge only.

Please give me more feedback here, it helps a lot.
thanks

greatschools is helpful information, but don't get so panicky. You will find a school where he will do fine. He's had positive experiences about school in the early years, which are so important, and carry over into the later years of school.

Thanks for a good word. I am starting to think that we will continue with Montessouri. it would be Cheryl Campus for the 4th grade. It is located by 51 and Shea Blvd, so kind of closer to Scotsdale than Downtown. I am not sure how bad is comute on 51. I am not sure if it would be worth the time. We are coming to Phoenix just for 2 years, and then back to California, where he can continue Montessouri education including Highschool levele.
any thoughts?

The commute on the 51 during rush hour is slow, but far better than the 101 or I17. If you live in the dowtown area, it won't be too bad.

There are worse commutes than the 51. Come to think of it (because their Missouri Ave. campus is closer in) you might also want to look at Rancho Solano private schools. My niece went to one of them, and did very well. Still a very good student now that she is a junior in college! www.ranchosolano.com
