Would stay away from the West Valley, as the economic base is very underdeveloped and there are many years of housing problems there. There is also a problem with ground water contamination, which is difficult to clean up, even with the EPA. Also, there is a nuclear power plant not far away from the West Valley, including Litchfield Park.
And I would stay away from EnicAZ's posts.
Come on! Why comment on something you know nothing about? You are making a wildly general comment, which was debunked already by a different poster when you made a similar comment in a different thread about Goodyear.

Have you ever been to Litchfield Park? In the last 10 years? In the last five?

I miss LP. Not many places around that you can live in a small town atmosphere and walk to a (formerly)5 star restaurant.
Yep. One of my friends was recently married in the church across from the wigwam which was really nice. Chris Bianco is involved in reshaping the restaurants and with the $$ in the colangelo group I'm confident they'll come up with something very nice. There is a lot in that little area. I've spent a lot of time in the library there. Weekend festivals. Grabbing a bite to eat and sitting out on a patio, etc.

Ritch,

I am surprised by your statements. I live in the West Valley close to Litchfield Park, so I see the struggle that goes on every day. Housing values and sales are plunging, and people have to drive long distances across town to work at unstable and low paying jobs. The number of homes and population in the area far exceed the number of jobs, unfortunately.

That was our church! It's a wonderful church and we miss it still. The Native American Arts festival is not to be missed and the Christmas Parade and Celebration is wonderful too.

I love where we live now in the mountains of northern Idaho but I will always treasure the time we spent in LP.

Here are my kids riding in the Christmas Parade. They loved it!

and it is several miles less from Goodyear center to downtown Phoenix than it is from Chandler center to downtown Phoenix. Say what?

I don't believe it one bit. But I guess that is my problem and not yours.

I guess you missed that Goodyear has added several hundred "good paying" jobs just in the last couple months. Since you live near by, I'm sure you knew that already.
Good grief!

Again with the gloom and doom. Yikes.
