I work in LP and I love it!! I always feel safe there (even at night) and our business very rarely sees crime. The customers I meet are usually nice and the town itself is very clean and well maintained. Go for it!

There are violent crims in LP? I live just west of it and go to LP all the time and have never felt unsafe. The WV real estate is going through some hard times admittedly and even though we're slower to get back on our feet compared to the rest of Phoenix, it's not like our side of town is horrible or anything like that. There are pockets of bad areas just like any other place but LP is not one of them, I don't think.

There are people who live out east and have to commute to the west for jobs and vice versa (in response to an earlier post) so to say don't live here b'c of that reason is stupid. The rule of thumb though is you want to live near where you work b'c commuting in general is a pain (although not as bad as ppl complain it to be). And there are no worries about the nuclear power plant. Let's jsut say if something were to go down (and it won't!) it won't matter if you lived in east or west Phoenix, we're all screwed. That's just my opininion. Plus, the nuclear power industry is HEAvILY regulated. The plant goes through their own inspections, peer inspections and gov't inspections to say the least.

ENIC hasn't been to the Noterra shopping center lately. I was surprised at the commercial growth that popped up while I was napping. Looks like the spaces are being rented, slowly but surely. This will all change on a dime and I would still rather live here one the west side as the growth potential in the hopefully near furter will be good. Otherwise, we can listen to some people telling us that there is really no hope at all and just f...g load the gun.

I'm planning a move to the valley from Indiana within the next year or so. Our search has gravitated mostly around Peoria, but I've heard a lot of great things about Litchfield Park as well. I wonder how the two compare, but I suppose that depends upon whim you ask. I was able to make a quick little visit out that way last month, but I was really short on time and didn't get to see Litchfield Park.

One thing I was told is that the noise from Luke AFB can be an issue in LP. I'm wondering if there's any truth to that and if so, if we're talking about any time of day or night or just certain times of day. I'm going to be doing a live radio show from my home studio, so noise that's often and unpredictable would be a deal breaker for me.

Anyway, I'd love to hear from people who live in LP and can give me a real world opinion on what life is like there. Thanks!

My parents live in Dreaming Summit. They don't have any problems with planes. I've never heard one at their house. I can't really speak for other areas there.

I live in Dreaming Summit and I hardly ever hear the jets. It is a great area. Tons of active families riding their bikes and running around the parks. I'm 26, single, with no kids and enjoy the area.

I live east of Dysart and Camelback in Litchfield Park and I never hear the jets. It's not an issue. We love the neighborhood and area here. The Wigwam resort has a farmers market all winter and other events through the year.

Near the nuclear plant??? Geez...30 miles away, maybe.
The west side is spotty. We've lived near Desert Sky Mall since '75. However, we bought a lakeside house in Crystal Gardens in September, and could make a nice profit if we were to sell it today. There are some pricey homes on the west side.
