I am always looking for "indirect" things to guage the economy and general mood of people and if the number of Holiday Light displays on houses is an indication, people in my town are feeling much better this year than the last couple.

There are A LOT more lights for this early in the season than I ve noticed in the past!

Anyone else noticing the same thing?

Hmmm...I haven't even been able to ride around my hood at night to notice yet. I'll try to pay attention tomorrow.

I've in fact already put up Christmas lights (and bought new ones) this year. But maybe that's just a sign of pure escapism, rather than optimism?

Several houses in my neighborhood have a lights display on. I need to get going on that myself....

I notice the restaurant crowds or lack thereof. Sure seems like more people are eating out lately. I have been too lazy to do my lights (and it has been too cold as well).
