Hi,

I'm just looking for some advice as to where to buy an investment property. We've been to Phoenix a couple of times but haven't spent enough time to know the areas well.

We're currently looking at making an offer on a house by N63rd Avenue and W Alice Ave and we're just wondering if this area is considered a good area for an investment property.

Or would it be better for us to buy an apartment in another area.

Our budget is around $150k.

Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated!

You mentioned that you are purchasing for investment, but what type of investment? Long term appreciation (and I mean long term)? Rental, with cash flow? Fix and flip? 1031 exchange? Each of these investment types have differing goals and tax implications.

I hope you are working with an agent that can advise you if the property you are considering meets your needs or can help you find one that does. As an investor you must know what your investment goal is and how to achieve it.

Once your goal is defined your agent can help you gather the information necessary to make the right decision.

I would recommend Phoenix over the Southern part of Glendale. The area by Arrowhead is very nice, but that is further north, near Bell Rd.
