The Amish have horrendous Puppy Mills in Lancaster, Pa. Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana. Google Amish Puppy Mills and you will be shocked at the conditions of these mills.................. I support groups that rescue the dogs after they are not able to breed anymore. Rescuing them is an alternative to starving, shooting, or burning these poor dogs when they are of no further use to the millers.

As a former sub contractor (electrical) I can tell you first hand that Pulte is all about customer satisfaction. They will do whatever possible to receive favorable reviews. The quality depends on the supervisor (builder) whether it's Pulte or any other home building firm. Some supers (including ones at Pulte) are focused on the schedule alone since it affects their bonus. They know how to schedule the subs, order materials, maintain paperwork, etc. but have no idea if the work is done correctly or not. Then there are the opposites who know construction but won't make phone calls or post paperwork at all.
Pulte knows that by keeping the jobsites swept and clean, visitors will be impressed even if the building is about to fall down. (I heard that in a Pulte meeting once)
The bottom line is to get a good superintendant. Some are good, some are real good, some are bad and some are real bad. The upside of all the construction layoffs is that the poorest performing employees are let go first.
If I were building, I'd look for a self employed builder who does a couple of homes a year and I had the opportunity to see his past work as well as to walk his existing jobsites. Talking with his former clients is helpful as well.

I bought a used (read: foreclosed) Pulte home originally built in '06 and the construction's sound, Pulte has been helpful even though I didn't go through them to get the house, and I have very few complaints...the ac relay switches are wired wrong (no biggie, found a way around it) and one window frame was not installed correctly (but I took care of that), but aside from that...I'm very happy with Pulte. I'd recommend them to anybody looking for a decent non-custom home.

Default Just moved in Anthem at Merrill Ranch

even though we qualify for the sun city side, we just moved into a new ho me in the parkside/family area of anthem at merrill ranch. we are absolutely thrilled with our house and the area in general. the other posts are right, it would not be fun to commute into phoenix from this area right now but every road in every direction (no kidding here) is torn up and being widened, etc. this is a community by itself. the community center gym in fabulous, the nicest gym i have ever worked out in. saturday night pulte had a get-together for residents of our area so we could meet our neighbors...which other homebuilders are doing that? my husband golfs and has fallen in love with the poston buttes course. they do offer special rates to anthem residents and it is a championship course. as far as the quality of the house, it is excellent. my husband is a retired building contractor so we are very particular and, frankly, are high maintenance buyers. if pulte can make us happy (and the have) they can make anyone happy. strongly recommend the area and pulte homes

I'm so glad that you are happy with your house Sue (Remember, if you need anything let me know!)

Pulte is a great homebuilder and I am very proud to be associated with them.
