Seems like a good idea to consider for your prospective situation, given your view on Florence. If the home sale or rental prices are acceptable.

Gold Canyon is a beautiful place - nestled next to the Superstion Mountains with golf courses in between. One potential drawback, is the lack of shopping (malls) and medical facilities.

Agree with AZ Tracy 100%. Beautiful area, but few services.

Also an older demographic.

That said, it's WAY better than Florence, and a spectacular place to live. Shop carefully - there are lots if homes available. And bargain hard. It may also be a good opportunity for a shortsale purchase, if you have the time and patience for that ordeal.

Congrats on the new job.

We just bought in Gold Canyon. We currently live in Johns Creek, GA and can't wait to get out of here!

Gold Canyon is fantastic but as said above, not much for shopping. Fortunately, Apache Junction and east Mesa are just down the 60 freeway. Depending on where in Gold Canyon you live, AJ is just minutes away and east Mesa has some great shopping. The Superstition Mall comes to mind. Just off the 60 freeway and it's only about a 15 minute drive from the west side of Gold Canyon.
Yup, Gold Canyon is a beautiful place. I'd live there in a heartbeat.
