I am new of Phoenix AZ.
I am searching house now.
Someone commented avoid Chandler's downtown.
Do you know zip cord?
Which part is the downtown of Chandler?
Where is the nice area of Chandler for living?

Also I am thinking Gold Canyon.
I want to know nice area of Gold canyon.

I am retirement.
So I don't care about commute and school.
I don't think Sun city (perfect retirement community).

Thank you.

As an Arizona native I say Welcome to Arizona! Gold Canyon is wonderful. We moved to a small community a few miles east of Peralta Trails and we just love it. Many of our neighbors are winter visitors or retired. We both work in the city but the commute is worth it. It's peaceful here and home prices are very reasonable. Chandler is a great place to live especially if you have children at home, we do not. I am not sure why you were told to stay away from downtown, it's alright.

I will to drive around of Gold Canyon and Chandler.
Also around Phoenix area.

I thought more desert feeling until arrived here.
But I surprised because very looks like Hawaii.
A lot of flowers and some place Palm trees and greeny .

downtown chandler zip code is 85225

best chandler zip code is 85226 (I10 to 101, Ray Road) or South Chandler/Ocotillo (85286/85248)

People say stay away from downtown because it is older and there are lots of mexicans/old apartments/trailer parks/liquor stores/

We drove through downtown Chandler in March and I was surprised how nice it looked. We were taking a "shortcut" to Mesa ( rather than US60) so got off I-10 earlier than normal and took the highway that goes right through the middle of town.

Clearly, you're referring to downtown long before the major renovations and redevelopment. The area's vastly improved now, with upscale restaurants, shops, a microbrewery, and a brand new city hall complex. Sorry, but your impressions are outdated and incorrect.

"best chandler zip code" is a matter of how and who is defining "best." (and I DO like Chandler, even though I live in East Mesa.)

You should definitely take a drive out to Gold Canyon. The mountains are gorgeous, and even if you don't golf, the courses are beautiful. There is a community called Mountain Brook Village that is for people 55 and older. They have all different kinds of activities from card games to pottery, plus swimming pools, fitness center and golf.

Gold Canyon environment was just like another world. Beautiful mountain view is very near by.
Sunset might be so spectacular.
But I couldn't use my GPS. Never appeared "Gold Canyon".
So I just drove here and there. My GPS was useless only Gold Canyon.
Only my GPS?
I am not interesting Golf or any game.
I feel just shopping is inconvenience.
Early morning the wind was comfortable while driving.
