Tubing on the salt river, wet and wild water park, the zoo (but go early, but they do have the splash fountain kids play in), Dave and busters, fishing at saguaro lake, taking a drive thru apache trail...or if you want to go further....Slide Rock state park...a personal fav of mine

Rio Vista splash park. Just west of 101 on Thunderbird Rd. Free. Encanto Park - kids carnival rides in center. .

I don't know about tubing the salt river with kids. It can get raunchy out there.

Four year old won't appreciate the Apache Trail, or even Slide Rock. How about the Children's Museum on 7th ST in Phoenix? They have things for all ages of children there, I hear. Mukutu's Island in west Chandler is a good place to take kids to play games and climb around in a safe, air-conditioned environment.

There's another zoo out by FOuntain Hills. Instead of turning into Fort McDowell, you make a right and there is some kind of wildlife place there. Never been, but the white tiger looks cool. In Chandler, there is an indoor swim place, Hamilton HS has a big outdoor pool and water slides....Also, they have an indoor play and romp and there is another place that I can't remember the name of . It's on .Arizona and Chandler Ocotillo right near Staples. SOme kind of cool looking play place we are going to bring kids to next week. Always the old Chucke Cheese and Peter Piper standby. Chandler Mall has an indoor playroom. Chandler has a Train museum (never been there). Cerretas in Glendale has a short tour and you can buy a VIP pass and have kids make chocolate pizzza. This is alist of free stuff for kids. Enjoy!!!

ALso, if you are shopping in Ikea, there is a free playroom that the kids love to go in for an hour...I think the swim place is aqua tots. Try this, too......

Are you talking about Out of Africa? They moved up north a few years ago... close to Camp Verde, I think.

The Chandler Mall playroom isn't really a destination, just a perk for shoppers to stop and let the little kids play. There's really not much there.

Cerretas is a good idea, and the link is very helpful info.
