I fished this guy out of the pool last night. He wasn't moving at all so he spent the night belly-up on the patio. He was in the same spot when I went out this morning so I figured he didn't make it. I just walked by and he was right side up and he moved! An Easter lizard? Pretty remarkable to see him alive.

In my yards (west valley) those are usually whiptails. I think.

It's great how all these guys can bounce back from being in the pool and looking dead. Fish em out, leave them on the bricks in the sun, hope a bird doesn't get them and they'll be back when their temp rises. Don't think it works if they end up in the skimmer basket though.

Back when I was in high school, a friend had a pet newt. It got out of the cage and a few days later they found it under the sofa, looking all dried out and dead. Just to see what would happen, my friend put it on a bowl of water and it came back to life. Lizards are amazing.

What a pretty lizard. I mostly see them outdoors but now and then they'll find their way inside, too. I don't mind them since I learned that they eat bugs. I love seeing them scurrying around, climbing up the walls etc. outside.

They provide endless hours of entertainment for the dogs too.

I have a cat that likes to catch them and bring them to me...minus the tails.

One day while cleaning under some furniture, I found the tails. In a pile.
