Hey, just curious how often you get pest control out to your house?

We're moving next week and are renting a house that has been empty for the past month. Not sure if we should get someone out right away? And then how frequently after that?

Thanks much!

You don't need it unless you live out in the desert or near the mountains. Use your common sense. If you see that you live in a remote locale either in the desert or in a higher elevation area near mountains, you won't need it.

I just bought "Real Kill" pesticide from Home Depot and it's done the job. I highly recommend it. Spray it once a month and you won't see anything. It's too dry here so most insects particularly flying insects can't survive in this climate. Of course, if you live near a pond, you will have to make an exception.

When I moved into my house, the previous owners used to have their house sprayed once a month. In my previous house, I never had it sprayed and had no problems. So I asked the guy to wait a year before spraying our house. In that time we had no problems so I'm not going to ask him to spray.

If the people next door are spraying you may not have too. My parents moved to Surprise nearly 5 years ago and the people on both sides of them spay every month or two and they have never had a problem. Our home that we are having built comes with a system that is built into the wall. A company comes out every three months and sprays there insectiside into the wall mounted unit and it delivers the product to the paremiter of the walls.

I have decided that if we ever move again, we will have the place fumigated at least twice before physically moving in and then get sprayed at least once a month.

We live near the mountains and sometimes get centipedes, but only during the summer. So we have the bug guy come out once a month from May-Sept.

We have a pest service come every three months. We also have the tubes in the walls. Seems to work ok.

How do the tubes work out? Do they still spray in other areas? I will find out about that when I move in next year I guess.

the people who owned my house for several years before i bought it had the house sprayed once a month. i didn't continue with the service but i've lived in my house now for 11 years and whenever a bug gets in my house i always find it belly up!! i think all the years of spraying by the previous owners have created a permanent barrier! lol!

I have a pest control company spray the inside and he outside of my house every 3 months. I've never seen a bug inside my house since I moved in almost 10 years ago.

In CA we had to get monthly service. Here in Buckeye, we only do it every 3 months with no problems.
