Anyone have any thoughts on the Thompson Ranch area of El Mirage? From Google Earth it looks like a nice newer area and secluded from old town areas, but I'd love to hear some locals' opinions. Thanks!

As a person who just recently bought...We spent a lot of time in and around El Mirage looking at homes....there is a reason the properties seem like such good deals.....we would never consider buying there...but to each their own.

Oh, is it so bad there? I just wrote an offer for a house, which is at the east side of El Mirage RD and north side of w greenway. Start to become worried now.

It's a nice area surrounded by some not so nice areas. You should drive out there and look around.

yes, i did. I drove from Bell and turned south on El Mirage Rd. There is a RV Resort on the east. The area past the RV Resort doesn't look too bad to me. What do you guys think?

You have to consider where are you buying gas for your car, groceries and such.

Like I said...there is a reason the deals look good.....you will also be challenged on any increase in value and may have issues if you go to sell.

There are some really nice houses in and around that area.....for us it wasn't worth the risk.

If this is for a vacation home I would look further west toward the 303 where there are some great deals.

We spent last weekend at our new place.....2 things really stood out...#1 glad we have a pool..lol....2nd...if you park your car in the garage it helps big time with heat when you go do leave.

We will be back in November....

You are right. To me, it seems as long as it is not too far from the Bell road, then should be OK. Anyhow, this is gonna be an investment house and I am not planning to live in there.
