We are planning on buying our first home , we liked a few nice neighbor hoods which fit it our budget, but they fall under Higley School District. How would you rate it?

Class size seems very large to me. My older two children are in the 5th grade, and each have 30 students in their class. The teachers are responsible for all classroom supplies so we get emails at least once a month requesting more paper donations etc. I do like that currently there are no middle schools. The children stay in their elementary from kindergarten until 8th grade. This may change as the district continues to suffer from over-crowding. All in all I would rate the schools in our district a 7 or 8 out of 10. I would have preferred to be in the Chandler, Kyrene, or Gilbert district.

Actually, the Arizona Deparment of Education ranked Higley sixth in the state:
Top School District Ranking | Arizona Department of Education

It seems that some people tend to have an unfortunate bias against Higley for some unknown reason, despite it being one of the top-performing districts in the state.

That ranking lists 'growth' as one of the parameters.

I looked up AIMS results for some districts but could only find 2008 data. Higley seemed to do ok... better than Mesa, not as good as Gilbert.
