I am currently with Blue Cross and not sure this is the best option. what is the most commonly used in Phoenix? If some of you could give me some company names that are decent companies to deal with I would appreciate it.

It makes a difference if you are talking about insurance while you are under 65 or over 65.

We also have B.C/ B/S. We are under 65 and found them to have the best rates for our ages. We had United Health for awhile and it was very good, but much more expensive.

I could only help if you are 65 or older. I am 66 and only know about Health Insurance for people my age.

I had Blue Cross and Blue Shield at one time and they were fine. I had Cigna Private Practice not the HMO for the last 7 years, they are a little more money than BC /BS but they were fine as well. I wouldn't do the HMO if I didn't have to.

Blue Cross is as good as others. Pacific, United, and the AARP(Supplemental/Medi-gap) have good policies. Always try to avoid HMOs. Keep in mind health insurance is the number one reason why people are unable to retire because of the costs. It will cost between $7k-$8k a year for a single retired person, and $12k a year for a couple, and these cost are increasing 6% to 10% yearly.

"Would you like fries with that?", or "Welcome to Wal Mart!"

Maybe your a little more youthful and not retired yet, in that case your cost is much less.
