Hello people,
Well I am up north right now(Arizona) and I am going to be going back to the valley at some point. However I can't find any specific info on train and or air service to Phx from Flag? I am not going to take the Greyhound. Had too many bad experiences with taking the bus. Thanks. Btw hows the weather?

There are shuttles that shuttle from the Flagstaff train station to the Phoenix airport. I think its like $40. You could fly.. but it would probably take longer and cost more.

Flagstaff Express - Arizona Shuttle Services: Shuttle Transportation service Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon and Phoenix, including Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

SkyWest (US Airways regional carrier) has 5 flights each day between PHX and FLG.

The biggest problem with planes and flying such a short distance is practicality, cost is in second place.

Trip to Flagstaff Airport, check-in and then flight to PHX plus the air traffic delays, landing and then getting out of Sky Harbor and then ground transportation to your final destination could take much longer than RIDING A BICYCLE.

Gone are the days of a simple 15 to 20 minute flight with simple check-ins / check- outs and unless you can afford a private flight or own your own plane, it just doesn't make sense.

Don't laugh at me, but I read an old article about Amtrak possibly wanting to provide train service to Phoenix again. I was amazed when we moved here to find that there was no train service to the country's fifth or sixth largest city! However, train service to the northern cities, according to the article, may be more difficult because of the terrain. I know, not quite on the subject, but it spurred a thought.

Let's not steer off onto that topic. If passenger service is ever restored, it won't include Phoenix-Flagstaff. They aren't going to be building any new track if service is restored.

there never, ever, was good passenger train service from Phoenix to Flag....the only track is via Wickenburg and Ash Fork (the historic old "Peavine" line)....Amtrak only goes east/west thru Arizona as most people have only wanted to head that way!....geography has something to do with it, too!!

as for planes, usairways.com ....advanced booking (a few weeks) can save you big money....but most Flag residents fly to Phx only as part of a bigger trip to more far-flung destinations....

The Shuttle looks pretty good! Cheap as well. They even pick up at home and drop off. Sounds like something I need to check out. Thanks for that link.
