Hi Everyone!

There is a tree I have seen quite a few times in your area. It has purple bark/trunk. Really purple, not brownish purple. What is the name of this tree?

Does anyone have one? Are they difficult to grow?

Can you give a little more info- such as the size/shape of the tree, the shape/color of the leaves, multi-trunk or single, dense or thin, etc? That might help.

I'm a bit stumped- we've got the Purple Leaf Plum, but I would describe it's bark as rather grey to dark brown(depending on age), not purple. Eucalypytus trees can sometimes vary, but they usually have multiple colors rather than just one.

Hmmm....

You asked this in 2007 - was it not answered (Purple Plum?)

Here's the original thread from 2007:

No idea, bu when I had a similar question, I took a leaf and brought it into the Park department to ask. And once when I saw one on someone's lawn, I actually went and knocked on the door to ask!
