The last time I stayed overnight in Chandler, I booked through hotels.com and got the Red Roof right at the Chandler I-10 exit, which was nothing fabulous but fine for my needs and in the $40-5 range. The least expensive thing they have for Chandler today is actually in Tempe (hard to tell where one ends and the other begins). It's the Days Inn on W. Elliot Road. It has a pool and breakfast for $43 per night. TONS of shopping, restaurants, and even IKEA in that neighborhood. There are two Extended Stay Americas in Chandler (which would give you a kitchenette). Hotels.com has them for $58 per night. If you want swankier, they had the Radisson/Chandler, for $64, which seem like a good price to me.
