This is our first time in Arizona and still looking for help with what to do at New Year.

We realize that the big thing is to watch the big chip drop, big crowds with young drunk people really isn't what we are looking for. Are their any nice hotels close by to this event that we could watch from our hotel room ? or that are walking distance to it ( not sure exactly where this takes place ).

Another option we were looking at was to stay in a 5 star resort hotel and have a nice dinner at the hotel and listen to a band, but after checking into prices at some resorts they are asking $150 per person for a 4 course dinner and champagne at midnight, I think this is very expensive, I can understand if it was an open bar but it is not. In addition to this you still need to pay for your hotel room.

Another option is staying at the Firesky Resort, they are offering the room at $229 which includes king size patio guest room, comp. breakfast, valet parking and a $50 gas card. Not sure if this is central to anything and they don't have anything going on yet for new year, but hope to do soon.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Tempe Mission Palms hotel is right in the middle of things at the party. Give them a call.

Also the block party isn't just a bunch of drunken kids. It will be packed with people coming in for the Fiesta Bowl. Even though it's now in Glendale everyone still stays in Tempe and Scottsdale
