Im moving to Phoenix here in a month or so and looking at apartments in North Phoenix. What is the area like around the N 7th St by Moon Valley? Any information would be helpful. Thanks

It's a an established area that's held up well over the years. I like the older homes and architecture of the area with the mountain preserves at your back door. Are the apartments you're referring too the ones near 7th St&Greenway? Anyway the area is ok. It's centrally located and you can get to downtown Phx pretty easily(straight shot down 7th St). Scottsdale isn't far away at all. You're not that far from Desert Ridge if U need 2 go on a major shopping trip. PV Mall/Costco is like 10min away. The Pointe Tapatio is just down the street if U ever want to eat at one of their restaurants. The area is safe for the most part. You might encounter a few pandhandlers at the local gas stations and grocery stores but
nothing too serious to worry about. Again the area is just ok. It's definitely a better area of Phx.

If you are looking for apartments check out Promotory point...I lived there five years ago and never felt unsafe, the complex backs into the mountain so you literally walk outside your apartment and get on a trail and go hiking

I have a friend that used to live in Vaseo. They seem pretty decent and well managed. The tenants seemed decent and neighborly for the most part(however I'm sure there were a few shady people). It's a huge complex though....kind of overwhelming. Great amenities and the rent is pretty affordable.

7th Street & Bell Rd (or Greenway Pkwy) shopping centers within walking distance from many different apartment complexes, also bus routes going in any direction needed.

Just so you know, 85254 is in the City of Phoenix (with a Scottsdale mailing address). It is, in fact, northeast Phoenix.

vaseo is a pretty nice place, and one of the nicest apts in that immediate area. They are priced a little higher than everywhere else nearby, but youll notice the differences (on site quick store, garages). Not sure if they are still doing it, but at one time they were having a farmers market in the parking lot every other sunday. If you are trying to go cheaper than vaseo there are quite a few in the same area as well, not sure what your budget is.

As for the area, theres also quite a bit within a 5 minute walk; (grocery; fys, safeway, target, fresh n easy, sun harvest, winco). Theres a few bars, restraunts, gyms, other business very close. Youll be about 5 minutes from 3 highways and 2 of em are 10 minutes to scottsdale. You are right next door to the fire station, (just south of the entrance on 7th st, incase youre a light sleeper). You will almost be at the foot of the North Mountain.

Any area or specific questions?

I live south of the mountain range... although it's older and does have some run down areas... it's a great place to live. Safe, close to Cave Creek, Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and a few mountain ranges. Just don't go too far west towards the I-17. Most of the problems start there!
