can't believe you guys are complaining already. Maybe you haven't lived here that long. 10/31/89, 100 degrees. I had a trick or treater to take around and it was hot. Always the 3rd week of October, before it cools down. Another 10 days. Although could be like 2003, hot way into November.

PM 10 has reached moderate in a number of areas this AM and is predicted to do that for the next two days, but not get into the red.. You can check all this and more on ADEQ's website. In my neck of the woods, the air has been extremely clear. I could see Eagle Tail Mountains very clearly this morning - they are way out there by Palo Verde. Love that southwest breeze.
Well, I'll be damned-- I guess you learn something new every day! Even if it's not polluted right now, I wonder how long that will last. BTW, ponderosa, that urban heat island we were talking about earlier this week? You're saying the nights where you are cool now? It STILL is warm at night here in Tempe the last few days. Last weekend, when the day time highs were lower, it did feel cool, but this week it's still fairly warm out at night here. I wish we could fast forward to December or January!

I agree on your timing. It's almost like clockwork cooling down between the 15-22 of Oct. Except when it doesn't.

It was warm (mid 60s) when it was muggy late last week. Since the front went through, it's been upper 40's (1 day) to low 50s at night out here. Maybe it has been a little windier in town than out this way. Breezes can make a huge difference because they mix the warmer air from above. The weather service site says its 67 there right now (5am) and I've got a 53 reading on my equipment! Luke AFB is at 55. That's a pretty dramatic heat island effect if wind is not to blame.

If this year is anything like the last two years, expect to have non stop polluted, hazy, dusty days from now until next March. Oh yeah, I can't wait.
The Brown Cloud issue has me concerned as well......to the point that I may wind up leaving here in a year or two for Kingman. Chillier winters (nothing like Chicago or Wash DC admittedly) and windier but at least the air is good

My thermometer says 46-- to me this is miserable, wish I could be 93 and "too warm"...
