Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for art or craft shows or similar events in the area this week-end? There's one in Queen Creek at the Olive Mill that I heard about....art and wine and music on Sunday, I think. Any others?
I don't get a newspaper and no tv news. Jut thought I'd throw this out there. Thanks in advance.

Phoenix Festival of the Arts: Phoenix Festival of the Arts 2012 – Roosevelt Row
I also read somewhere they're going to have 5-10 food trucks there on both Saturday and Sunday.

Can't edit your own posts apparently so I'll just add this to mine -- yes, Tamale Fest is this weekend. It appears to be increasingly difficult to find information on this year's event, Google searches tend to be pulling up older pages. But it's on 1st to 4th Ave on Washington, Saturday and Sunday from 9-6.

It looks like both Tamale Fest and the Phoenix Festival of the Arts are right off the light rail, so it might be a good way to check them both out.

Carefree Christmas Festival! Parade and fireworks are Saturday night but it goes all weekend

"Illuminated floats, dancers and marching bands parade down Easy Street, the town’s main thoroughfare. More than 75 entries are expected. The parade begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Fireworks follow at 8.
More than 20 food vendors offer such holiday favorites as roasted chestnuts, hot cocoa and traditional comfort foods like hot dogs, kettle corn and tamales.
As many as 110 gift-market vendors offer items, such as handmade lotion and soaps, hand-painted wine glasses and bottle corks, candles, jewelry and pottery. The market is open all three days, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday."

Carefree lights up for weekend of Christmas cheer

I'm sure this is a bit late, but tonight is First Friday in Phoenix. It can get really crowded but the perk is that things like Phx Art Museum are free Most/all of the event is entirely light rail accessible.

Don't forget about Glendale Glitters. Everyone in the Valley should make it there at least one weekend a year. Downtown Glendale really puts on a great show.
