I looked at the Direct Energy website the other day after reading about the job fair, just to learn about the company. In some parts of the country, apparently some of the utilities are now being offered for sale through a secondary company [Direct Energy]. I noticed that this company does business in Illinois, where I grew up. You can now order your home electricity [Commonwealth Edison] through this company, along with gas [Northern IL Gas]. Maybe some direct utility company competition is starting. I still remember when the telephone company started the deregulation process and we finally were able to purchase our phone from the phone company and quit paying rent for it every month. That was about 1981 or so, I think. It is an interesting website - some new concepts coming down the pike....take a look at the website. And good luck to all you job seekers!
