7 Phoenix area communities made the top 50 best-selling communities in the United States in 2012. Ranking the highest was Fulton Homes' Ironwood Crossing in Queen Creek at 23rd, followed by Power Ranch in Gilbert (erroneously listed as Phoenix) at 27th, Shea Homes' Vistancia in Peoria (also erroneously listed as Phoenix) at 29th, William Lyon Homes' Hastings Farms in Queen Creek at 39th, Verrado in Buckeye at 41st, Estrella in Goodyear at 48th, and Fulton Homes' Freeman Farms at 49th.

I am very happy that our community (Freeman Farms) made the list, however, some of those seem a bit surprising. Queen Creek and Buckeye were some of the hardest hit areas after the housing market crash, and now they have made it high on the list (Ironwood Crossing isn't technically in Queen Creek, but in unincorporated Pinal County, however it is part of the Queen Creek planning area).

I noticed that almost every community on the list was in a warm climate state revealing that folks are headed to states like AZ that have milder winters.

Verrado in Buckeye is not your everyday Buckeye development. It is a high end, affluent community with a unique feel and copious amenities. Whatever hit it took in the recession would have been short-lived.

I'm sure you are more than happy. Anytime you can post a thread on Fulton Homes you must be bouncing off the ceiling

I find the rankings to be a little lacking in substance.

Yes, I changed my username. And no, I do not work for Fulton.

Interestingly, Fulton Ranch made the 2011 list, but not the 2012 list. However, in 2011 Fulton was offering a lot more floorplans at Fulton Ranch (the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Monterey Bay series), while in most of 2012 the Shoreline series were the only series offered there (not including the custom homes on The Island).

Why do you think this thread is specifically about Fulton? I wouldn't have listed all of the communities that made the list if I intended this thread to be solely about them.

Anyway, it looks like Shea (my second choice of builder) currently has the best selling community in the West Valley. Shea also has a subdivision in Power Ranch that they are currently building in.

It's an (off topic) refrain from those who do not get why many, if not most, of us do not want to live in the "inner city". I have always lived on the outskirts and always will. You could not pay me to live in central Phoenix. Different strokes - it's lifestyle and has nothing to do with carpet.

Not to be too negative, but the majority of the list is 5 states with one each from 3 additional states.

The list should probably be titled "Among states with master planned communities......"
