"A former Mesa doctor hugged his attorneys, bowed his head and shed tears of joy Wednesday when jurors found him not guilty of 12 alleged sex crimes involving nine former patients.Police arrested Ogbonnaya in 2010, after two women accused him of groping them over their clothes during medical exams, with one woman saying Ogbonnaya touched her inappropriately, told her she needed another boyfriend and should have more sex, even though she was married. Seven additional women stepped forward after media reports about the case and made similar allegations."

I don't know what to make of this. As a physician I can sympathize with other physicians as there are patients who are capable of making false allegations for a particular gain. He was found innocent of all 12 charges, however, there were multiple women that came forth making similar claims. In general, stories like this bother me because there is a certain level of trust between patients and their doctors and violating that trust is reprehensible in my opinion. I'm not making any allegations or guessing what happened but the whole story just bothers me.

I agree this must have been a difficult case for prosecutors because of the lack of witnesses in the initial document below.

You can read the AZ Medical Board document for this provider at and scroll to near the bottom of the page. All recent medical board actions are here.

He really did thumb his nose at the system and refused to cooperate. Surprised he hasn't been audited by Medicare for his poor medical record documentation and potential fraudulent billing practices.
