As an Australian nurse I've been offered a position at CGRMC through an agency. Would love to hear all the tips and tricks about rental accommodation and other ideas we'd need to know, preferably from people with first hand experiences. Haven't yet made the decision. The prolonged heat might be a challenge unless there's air-conditioning everywhere. Where would we buy a vehicle? Will be self, husband and possibly 2 cats! Any tips will be helpful. Also info about income tax, etc.

Up until about 3 weeks ago, I lived in Casa Grande for about 8 years. I recently moved back here to Calif.
But, I can tell you there are many apts you can have cats. I might recommend the Cottonwood Crossing, theyre pretty reasonable, a little more secure, and have the washer/dryer hookups.
Cant deny that the furnace season starts sometime around March and goes all the way through till late Sept/early Oct. Be prepared fro temps of anywhere between 110-118, its not uncommon.
Other than that, you might develop a liking to it...

Casa Grande is a big enough city to find all of what you listed above. It is about 20-30 minutes south of Chandler, which is a very large city. Add another 20-30 minutes and you could be in Phoenix.

Generally speaking, yes, there is air-conditioning everywhere.

Federal income tax will be the same rate anywhere in the United States. For specifics, you might want to check the IRS website. Arizona also imposes a state income tax, as well as a sales tax.

Depending on the length of your contract, you might have a little difficulty renting a good place for less than 6 months.

I hope your husband doesn't expect much in the way of entertainment. He could live on the golf course but he'll go nuts if he's expecting much in the way of excitement.
