Has anyone had their drinking water tested by a lab in this area? Does anyone have any recommendations for laboratories or on what is best to be tested?

I found this list but I'm a bit overwhelmed by it and having a hard time finding pricing or other information.

List of Arizona Certified Commercial Drinking Water Laboratories

I've been having some mysterious health problems recently and since it is a mystery so far I thought that testing our drinking water might not be a bad idea especially since my symptoms started after we moved into our new home.

I'm looking for a lab that is cost effective as well.

Without knowing what to test for the possibilities become almost infinite. Is it a chemical contaminant? Pesticides? Metals? Phthalates? Mold, bacteria or other biological problem? Probably any of the labs on the list will be happy to take your money. And perform a general screening to a more thorough set of analyses that will probably find some possibilities. That may or may not be related to your problem.

Before I paid money for more than a general screening I would talk with my Dr. and see if they had any suggestions as to what to look for. Then be up front with whichever lab you hire about what you want and how much you can pay. Talk to 2 or 3 in the valley before hiring any of them.

Just my suggestions.

You don't need to test your drinking water. The water supplier is required by law to test a whole bunch of contaminants on a regular basis. You can review all of these test reports for free by contacting ADEQ/ Drinking Water Section.
