I noticed that old motel between Macy's and the optima condos was being torn down a week ago. Just curious if anyone knows what is planned for that land?

According to this article, http://www.azcentral.com/community/s...emolished.html as of February, 2013, there were no specific plans, any future development will be "market driven"....

Well, it might be additional parking for now. If the economy permits, I'll bet it won't stay that way.

I didn't realize the tree falling incident was there. Very sad.

Thanks for the link! I also found out that a Mercedes Benz dealership is moving over there that used to be on Indian school. Is this strictly a pre-owned mb dealership or something comparable to Schumacher?

Sounds like Phoenix Motor Company, which has been on Indian School west of Central for a long time. They are a full service dealer, not just pre-owned.
