The question was never yea or nay, the OP doesn't want a pool, but was concerned about finding a house without one, and whether houses without pools are harder to sell. We've had lots of threads debating the pool issue, this really isn't one of those, unless you want to discuss the resale issue, which some already have.

From our experience there were more homes available without pools and since a pool was on our must have it limited the amount of homes we would consider.

If the house didn't have a pool it at least had to have room for one and a location to make it easy to install such as easy access to the backyard.

In the end we got the house we wanted with the perfect pool.

The best thing about it is that I never spend one minute of my time messing with it and for $25.00 week its taken care of including chemicals....I do have to pay an occasional 50-100 for filter cleaning and such but well worth it in my mind.
