Hello all, my name is Jeremy. I'm a 100% disabled vet/retired USAF. My family and I are moving to Arizona and we need to find somewhere safe and affordable that's max 30 minutes from my in-laws in Tolleson and 20 minutes or less from Scottsdale Community College. I'm trying to find somewhere safe with rent $1000.00 and below. Have a wife and three small children. Thanks everyone for your time.

Thank you for your service.

Can you tell us a little more, please? How big a place do you need? How many bedrooms? SFR or apartment (I assume you are renting)? Does that $1000/mo give you enough money to pay utilities (which can be quite high in the summer in Phoenix)?

It's going to be difficult to find something large enough for 5 people in that price range, I'm afraid. . .

Needing to be between those two things puts you right in the center of Phoenix. It'll be hard to find something large enough for that price, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the replies. $1,000 for rent is the goal but if we can find somewhere safe then I can give a little with the rent. . I have set aside additional funds for utilities. Need 4 bedrooms SFH, loft would be great as well. Typing this in a rush, sorry for any odd spelling/etc.

Thank you for your service.

I really don't think you will find a four bedroom home for $1000 a month, but I wish you all the best. Keep in mind that summer electrical costs can be in the hundreds. Of course, once established, you can sign up for a level pay plan which makes managing that expense easier. Good luck to you.
