Where's the cheapest place to buy these? I normally manage my pool with liquid chemicals but I do use tabs in the summer months just for convenience. My previous bucket lasted me 3+ years and I can't recall where I bought it. Places like Leslie's Pool Supply look expensive.

My bucket is almost empty too. Usually I buy them at Home Depot, but never really did a price compare.

35 pound bucket at HD is $77, so $2.20/lb

At Costco a 40 pound bucket is $90, so $2.25/lb

Also, I like to patronize B&B in Tempe whenever I can. They don't have online pricing, but in my experience they are fairly competitive. I take motors and the pool vac in there for repairs, and they're very good at patching them up.

I second B&B pools. They have the best prices around, all around decent guys. It's not so important for tabs, but they store their chemicals properly, so they work well. Unlike box stores that will store their liquid chlorine outdoors

I order mine on Amazon. i research the best price for the largest bucket I can find. Last time I ordered I got a 50 lb bucket for about $100 delivered. That should last me a year.

Have you considered adding a saltwater generator to your pump? 2/3 of all pools sold now are using that generator to produce just enough chlorine to keep the pool clean and the water soft. And the water's not at all salty.

We're adding a fiberglass pool this week, and that's the way we're going.

I've gotten lazy and been using a service, but always bought them at Leslie's. A quick internet check shows 50 pounds around $109 at Amazon, $119 at Costco and $129 at Leslie's.

I think there are also two types of tabs - with or without copper (to fight algae). I would always use the copper ones. Maybe they are all with copper these days. Not sure.

Before I moved to AZ and into a home with a pool the property had been a rental for 10 years. My property manager would tell me the reason the pool maintenance monthly cost would go up in the summer is because more chlorine tablets were needed.

Then after coming here I learn the cost for chlorine tabs isn't much. That $100 is more than enough to cover the cost of tabs for a year.

In fact the entire pool maintenance is quite easy and something you're better off doing yourself.

I usually use PoolClever 3-inch chlorine tablets to clean my pool.
